It was the shock elimination of Melodifestivalen this year, but despite Swedish artist Dotter failing to reach the final, she is back with a hot new single.
The song is titled Heatwave, and it’s a mid-tempo pop tune that has a bit of Dotter drama to it! The talented singer-songwriter penned this song herself, alongside Michael Angelo. Not only did she co-write the song, but she also directed the music video for the song, which you can view below:
Dotter first came to our attention in Melodifestivalen 2017, where she co-wrote the song ‘A Million Years’ which was performed by Mariette. As you may remember, this song went on to place 4th in Melodifestivalen, and remained a strong fan favourite afterwards. This year, Dotter went on to compete for herself at the competition with the entry Cry, which was a powerful vocal driven ballad. Although we thought it would be a strong contender, it failed to move past the semi-final.
